Relay For Life
gives families, friends and co-workers, the opportunity to have fun while fighting cancer.
It is a special day to remember those who have fought the battle against cancer and to
celebrate those who have won.
Held at the Marshfield Junior High School Track Area, the Relay for Life
extends over an 18-hour period. Participants form teams of 10-15 people and seek
sponsorships for the laps they will walk or run around the track. Click on
"Information" above to see more info on teams and the role of team captains!
After opening ceremonies, cancer survivors kick off the event by taking a victory
lap around the track. For the rest of the day, while team members take turns around the
track in half-hour shifts, the other participants camp out and enjoy live music,
volleyball, tent-decorating contents, messages and a sampling of culinary delights. The
day is full of fun, camaraderie, emotion and best of all -- hope.
